Hadn’t seen this in a long time. Still photographically beautiful and Leonardo DiCaprio’s most screen-hoggingly charismatic period. One of the only mainstream movies I can think of in which the camera/director constantly makes love to the main actor and saves none of the bokeh for the leading lady. Also a great lesson in visual storytelling, because it was made in such a way that plebs wouldn’t have to understand Shakespearean English to understand what was going on. Also, it’s worth mentioning the leading man was only 22 when he turned in this magnetic performance. at 新風館 – View on Path.
